A tick indicates a service is live. A cross indicates a potential problem.
Planned Maintenance In order to combat the levels of spam that hit the Windows hosting network and because of to improper use of our mail servers by some customers, the network provider's support team has indicated that standard email services must become restricted. SENDING OUTGOING MAIL To avoid this issue you must ensure that all email accounts setup in Outlook or your choice of email client use a valid 'FROM' email addresses in the settings. Also any scripts on your website(s) that send email should also have a valid FROM email address setup. If you suspect that this change may have impacted forms on your website, get in touch. MAIL FORWARDERS If you currently use forwarding to BT or Yahoo then get in touch to arrange for a new destination for your forwarded mail, or to set up a POP3 mailbox for collection with Outlook Express. Apologies for any inconvenience these change may cause, but unfortunately it is unavoidable. Current Problems Webmail has been migrated to Smartermail, which has improved Spam handling built in. These anti-spam meaasures will also affect regular POP3 mail. You should automatically see incoming spam being marked as such and you can control this on an individual basis by logging into your webmail account (you should use http://mail.your_domain_name.co.uk - substituting your domain name - with your complete email address as the username and your existing password.) Look for the 'settings' option near the top of the screen. AOL Users - IMPORTANT Please do not use AOL's 'Report as Spam' feature on unsolicited mail forwarded from your domain. AOL's software is not intelligent enough to read the technical content of the emails correctly and assumes that the server hosting YOUR domain is the one sending the spam! This will eventually cause your own website (and other sites hosted on your server) to become 'blacklisted' and any emails from domains on the server to many ISPs will be refused delivery. Unfortunately, as this situation is potentially very damaging to our other clients, we may have to temporarily disable your domain if this practice comes to our attention - for the benefit of the majority. If you need clarification on this, please feel free to give us a call. Email Settings
